Our History

The Franciscan Guest House and nearby Monastery are owned by Lithuanian Franciscan Friars who purchased the estate in the 1940s after escaping religious persecution in the Soviet Union. They built a Lithuanian school for boys, and today, the original Main Building and former dormitories serve as rooms for our guests. Each year, the school’s alumni return to reminisce about the days of their youth spent on our beautiful property.
